Who owns steep and cheap

Every single year each of these models, produced in the hundreds of thousands, has to end up somewhere. In the case of Backcountry. However, Backcountry. A few months ago Steep and Cheap went through a much-needed site redesign. Those of you who frequent it may have noticed, but for the most part it was seamless.

The update has made it much easier to navigate on a whole, which is good news for you. The first of those elements is which device you plan to navigate on. For the most part, the App and browser versions of Steep and Cheap are pretty similar, which is a feat in and of itself. Most companies that utilize both platforms are wildly different, which leads to customer confusion.

Each of these platforms has the same exact products, and roughly the same information, images, and general categories, all of which are searchable. With the browser version everything is bigger, and you can see more information at once.

The higher the discount and lower the product count, the shorter the timer will be. One difference between the app version of the Current Steal and the browser version is that the app shows you the number of products remaining.

This appears as a bar, and will decrease every time the product is purchased. You can watch this to decide if you should pull the gear trigger. This is a huge advantage over the web browser version, and makes having the app entirely worth it. Before the site redesign, every single item on Steep and Cheap had a time-limit attached to it.

Some of the Collections and category-based items would be up for a week or two, but it was always specified when they would end. The Current Steal was a much more concentrated version of this, with a shorter time and higher discount. While Steep and Cheap has stopped using the time-based sale for the rest of its products, the Current Steal remains because there are few better selling tactics than one driven by urgency.

Some of us feel affronted and walk away. But most of us even those affronted, after a certain amount of time , feel the pressure to buy. If you're a climber and you see that come up, check it out! Notice clothes didn't make it on the list. I need to be really sure of the size in that certain style, which is hard to do since they're usually styles that aren't in stores anymore. These are the biggest discounts you're going to find on new outdoor gear.

Just makes sure it's what you want before you order! But there are other sites worth looking at for more gear. Water Sports. Sea Fishing. Recreational Cycling. Rock Climbing. Wilderness Survival. Extreme Sports. Winter Sports. Read this review for tips before you buy.

I keep my expectations real and the products are legitimate so I find this company and it's other affiliates affordable and convenient. Don't buy here trust me you'll lose money!

They are such a Goddamn nightmare. Recently ordered from this site and it's been a pain in the butt, so much that I would have rather have paid full price on another site to have better service. Ancient practice. Awesome website for deals. Kind of fun to keep track of what the current special is. I have gotten several great deals on camping equipment in the past few years.

What you are doing may be legal, but morally i cant support this tactic. Too bad; Ive been a long time customer. Happy to pay a few more bucks at another "backcountry" store. Shame on you. I was skeptical but went to a store, tries on several Costa sunglasses and lens colors, discovered a style and copper mirror that was sensational, found the glasses on Steep and Cheap, orders them and got them in two days as represented.

I got them today and they are perfect. I purchased a kayak from steep and cheap backcountry. The kayak was only wrapped in plastic. Someone in my warehouse signed for it. Once I finally got around to inspecting it, the kayak was really neat up.

But the worst part is there was a puncture hole in the bottom of it. I called backcountry and they informed me I would have to pay for return freight, and freight back to me for the new kayak. My advice, pay the extra money before purchasing anything form this joke of a company. Steep and Cheap buys defective products from manufacturers at deeply discounted prices, then they sell them to you. When you buy them and subsequently return them they charge you for shipping which increases their volume with UPS thereby getting them a discount on shipping for all of their sites.

They do care about the backcountry customers. They are trying to lower thier overall shipping costs to sell the company to some other fool. You and I are part of the greater fool theory. No More. So i read the reviews and purchased anyways but was leery about it. Well i paid xtra mony to have my product shipped quicker well you guessed it still not product contacted steep and cheap they told me they would refund the extra in shipping which they have not yet.

And im still waiting on my product. Lesson learned when there are that many bad reviews look elsewhere this company needs to go away with service like this. I too would have given them 5 stars a couple years ago. They use to have a great selection of items but now seem to only have ski poles, goggles and helmets. I miss the old steep and cheap.

I normally don't take the time to write a review but felt inclined to this time. I ordered a jacket that was too small for me and returned it with no problem. There was a hiccup with the total amount returned but Chris who took my call immediately corrected it.

Chris was very professional and helpful in resolving my matter. I'm looking forward to future purchases from you. Therese F. Be very careful of this company I received an email from them saying their warehouse has receive my return and that the money would be on my card. A few months later I go back to check to make sure it went through and sure enough it did not.

This place is straight up scamming people they did reluctantly return my money but it's scary to think that the company will tell you they refunded your money and not actually do it.

I ordered one Stoic merino wool garment to see if it measured up to Icebreaker--if it did, great! If the original method of payment is unavailable, we will issue your refund in the form of store credit. Used gear must be returned within 30 days of delivery and may only be refunded in the form of store credit. Founded by Andy Stroman, CampSaver. Is OpticsPlanet legit?

Most items are in stock and ready to ship from the Illinois-based warehouse. Most in-stock items ship within business days from our Aurora, Illinois warehouse. Once your order ships, you will be sent another email with the tracking information for your package. Backcountry, which was founded in and is now owned by private-equity firm TSG Consumer Partners, takes a similarly refined approach to what it sells.

For Klymit, that means that the Static V is often out of stock on the site, and that Backcountry usually carries about half as many of its products as Amazon.

They do not provide this facility to their customers. Although, they already try to keep up with the industry and provide quality products at less price. For competing e-retailers like REI and Backcountry.

Digital-first premium outdoor apparel and equipment retailer Backcountry has announced plans to open two physical locations this year, reiterating its commitment to brick-and-mortar expansion. Backcountry currently operates one physical store, which is adjacent to its fulfilment center in Salt Lake City. Some exceptions apply.
