You hear the soft splashing of the sea. Then you hear a kind of sappy opening song sung a little too seriously.

As you watch the opening, you discover an undersea building. Who knows? This independent-minded girl will be your undersea guide during expeditions. Choose male or female, skin color and a couple of facial features. The captain and Oceana tell you about the mysterious Song of Dragons, bit by bit. As you journey to solve the mystery, you go from coral reefs to the rivers of the Amazon filled with sharp-toothed piranhas.

In the Arctic, you find penguins and polar bears you can pet. But you get used to it pretty quickly. The game starts you off much the same way a real-life instructor would if you were just starting out in open water.

You see a magical paradise full of tropical fish, some a few inches, some a couple of feet long. You can feed and touch some of them, too. You have useful tools at your disposal, including the Pulsar device, which helps you cure sick creatures and slow the more aggressive ones that might come after you. With the Camera, take and save pictures of any of the forms of wildlife you encounter. Then you can latch on to his fin for some super-fast swimming.

You can also latch onto the whale at the beginning of game. You can explore these new worlds with a friend via your WiFi broadband connection. And since the game comes bundled with the WiiSpeak microphone, you can chat as you check out the reefs and caves.

What is that underwater civilization all about? Of course, the aquatic lover in you will constantly check out the various rays, sea turtles and more.

You might even see an oarfish or a foot-long giant squid, something real-life scientists rarely find. This X-shaped landmark near the East Ciceros Undine is a play place for bottlenose dolphins. Through the X-shaped cut in the rock, you can find a small cavern containing a coin, glow spots, a whitetip reef shark , and some pineconefish.

A lone tiger shark can also be found here, but only during the "White Dolphin of Ciceros" mission. This tucked-away shore can be found in the easternmost section of Ciceros Strait.

The cove is known for its beautiful white sand, and more interestingly, a hidden colony of Mediterranean monk seals. A pair of red stingrays , surrounded by smaller fish such as teardrop and oriental butterflyfish cover the water leading into this cove.

Here, like in White Cove, a group of Mediterranean monk seals is found. The famously-elusive Blue Bird also appears here on the second stop of its quest.

The southernmost part of Ciceros is similar to the North Canyon, but with a darker and more ominous vibe. Its main distinguishing feature is the North Atlantic right whale that circles through here replaced by a basking shark at night. There are also red and cowtail stingrays that can be found on the seafloor, and the enigmatic Sea Serpent is also discoverable here upon filling in the entire map.

A side-by-side comparison of the mysterious, ancient murals found in both Blue Dome and Red Dome. Two mysterious domes can be found on the west side of Ciceros Strait, containing strange murals of a thought-lost ancient civilization. The northernmost dome in Ciceros is so-called for two reasons: The first is that there are lots of blue fish in the dome, for example, blue-spotted ribbontail rays , blue tangs , king angelfish and more, and the other can be seen at the surface.

A dome comes out of the water, and its interior is painted with blue murals. Who could have painted these strange murals? When were they painted? The southernmost dome in Ciceros is so-called for the same reasons as the Blue Dome: it has red Japanese angelsharks populating it, and there are red murals painted on the interior of the dome.

A trio of great white sharks is found here, but exclusively during the "Mural Fragment" mission. Each of the six shipwrecks in Ciceros Strait. One notable trait about Ciceros Strait is it' abundance of shipwrecks. These shipwrecks contain unique ecosystems within and around them, and hold great interests for salvagers seeking treasures in the deep.

This wreck in the middle of the strait sits directly southeast of the North Ciceros Undine. Several mahi-mahi and longtooth grouper call this ship home, and a whitetip reef shark makes its home in a shelf of rock nearby. Common octopuses , goldeye rockfish , and lined surgeonfish surround this wreck, and the great North Atlantic right whale swims around the area.

At night, a basking shark makes its way near and around the ship. The Wreck of the Demeter, notable for being almost entirely destroyed, in comparison to the generally-intact state of other shipwrecks. Indo-Pacific sailfish populate this ship, along with accompanying shoals of Japanese jack mackerel , European parrotfish , and others.

What is most notable about this ship in the southeastern-most part of Ciceros is that it's always swarming with great white sharks.
